COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - We're just months away from going to the polls.

On Thursday, professors from around the state talked about the gubernatorial race at a symposium hosted at the University of South Carolina.

Instructors from USC, the Citadel, Clemson, Winthrop, and Francis Marion University talked politics and tried to predict who will come out on top.

Most believe this election won't be a repeat of 2010.

They say Governor Nikki Haley is now an incumbent which gives her an advantage.

They say she's also established herself as a "jobs" governor.

In 2010, State Senator Vincent Sheheen lost the race to Haley by a relatively narrow margin.
